Walk Info [029] Start from the grounds of Willersley Castle then a riverside walk to spectacular ascent to High Tor above Matlock. A climb to the NE of Matlock to make a descent of a valley full of ruins water-power and old buildings. A climb to the SE of Matlock and circuit round the SE of Riber to an intended tea stop at Willersley Castle.

Start Park in the marked spaces alogside the approach drive of Willersley Castle. Please use spaces as far from the castle as possible (to minimise the walk for any disabled visitors they may have during the day).

Travel Google Maps time from Loughborough 68min for 42 miles.
 
If approaching from the South along the A6, turn R at the Cromford traffic lights. After ½ mile you will cross the river. Turn L up the drive immediately after crossing the river.

Extra Info Finish the day by having tea at Willersley Castle. If the weather is good, this can be served outside with a magnificent view down the hillside.
We will be obtaining keys before we set off so that we can access and use their private riverside walk.
